Economy Designer (Mid-Senior)


Pixel Toys is seeking a versatile and highly experienced Economy Designer to own and balance the game economy for our upcoming PC RPG game. As a pivotal position, we expect candidates to be very team focused, proactive and self-motivating, while possessing a strong personal desire to deliver to the highest standard.


The Role

As the game economy expert, you will help define and execute on the monetization goals of the game, while shaping an engaging and rewarding player experience from concept through to completion.

What you need:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in game design, game economy or game development
  • In-depth knowledge of free-to-play games on the web and mobile
  • A passion for working with numbers, formulas, data analysis, and excellent Excel skills
  • Organized and well-developed understanding of game economies
  • Proficient with data mining, analytics and presenting your findings
  • Strong understanding of game development
  • Strong A-level or higher math qualifications
  • Proficient English with outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication skills

What you will do:

  • Own all game economy systems and features (progression & reward structures, currencies, sinks & sources etc.)
  • Design systems that engage players and drive them to enhance their experience
  • Develop models and evaluate their performance & impact on player experience
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to help turn your ideas into reality
  • Implement and update all economy data using in-house tools
  • Balance and adapt your work based on user testing, analytics and as directed by the Product Owner
  • Document and maintain information to help guide the team and our partners on the functional levers of the economy
  • Understand how the game economy works and how different customers behave in it
  • Predict and measure the impact on player engagement of updating the economy, adding new features and content
  • Use research and in-depth knowledge to design new features that improve long-term player satisfaction, and provide more monetisation opportunities


  • A solid understanding of the free-to-play market and a passion for video games in general
  • Knowledge and experience working with mobile RPGs
  • A financial background or qualifications
  • SQL\R knowledge
