IT Infrastructure Engineer

Pixel Toys are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to help us create wonderful, entertaining games, with high-end graphics, built for various platforms (mobile/PC/web etc..). The role is key to the team as you will be maintaining, extending and improving the infrastructure used by everyone in the company, helping ensure each release is delivered to our high quality standards. In this role you will have the opportunity to work in a flexible environment, and to add your own ideas into the mix in order to support the teams create the most enjoyable games possible. 

As a candidate for the IT Infrastructure Engineer role, you are expected to have proven experience within a similar role in a professional environment, working in areas including desktop support, network setup & support, server maintenance and working as a member of a team.

We are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver, an excellent communicator, and who always shows high levels of enthusiasm and a talent for helping to create the best IT environment possible.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintaining IT excellence in the studio
  • Supervising daily operations of network and server infrastructure
  • Maintaining data, network and system security
  • Maintain and develop disaster recovery, backup and network recovery plans
  • Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
  • Assist with administration of:
  1. Essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  2. Google Suite
  3. Hardware specification, purchasing, configuration
  4. Hardware auditing and tracking
  5. Hardware maintenance and upgrades
  6. Electrical safety
  7. Software license tracking and management 

Job Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, Experience

We are interested in you if you have most or all of the following:

  • 2-3 Years experience in a similar role
  • Great knowledge of
    • Windows Admin Tools (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO)
    • Networking technology (switches, routers, WAP, Firewalls)
    • Security best practices
    • Virtualisation
    • Backup procedures
    • Disaster recovery
    • Linux & Windows Servers
    • Domain administration
    • VPN setups
  • Good knowledge of
    • Google G-Suite
    • Windows & macOS Desktops
    • Scripting (PowerShell, Batch, Bash)
    • Physical hardware (server, desktop)
    • CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins)
    • Source control (Perforce, SVN, GIT)
    • Atlassian administration
  • A positive and outgoing personality
  • The ability to self-motivate and self-manage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
