Senior Character Artist

Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Gunfinger, Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Drop Dead and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War.

As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.

We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior 3D Character Artist to help us create wonderful, entertaining games, with high-end graphics. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for working with the creative leads and the art team to take the vision for our games from concept to completion. In this role you will have the opportunity to work in a flexible environment and add your own ideas into the mix in order to create the most enjoyable game possible.

Owning the art process and technical pipelines all the way to final in-game implementation, you will be responsible for the creation of fantastic 3D character art assets as well as ensuring that created art assets are optimised for our game engines.

On top of this, you will be an example for professional conduct, maintaining a positive, collaborative, proactive, problem solving attitude at all times; while effectively mentoring and developing more junior members of the team.

About you:

With a strong portfolio that demonstrates excellent 3D and 2D skills, (with particular focus on original exciting character work with a strong understanding in anatomy) you will have up to date and comprehensive knowledge of Autodesk Maya (or other relevant 3D content creation packages) and Photoshop.

You will also have insight into wider industry developments ensuring we are using the latest techniques to create the highest quality and performance friendly assets, as well as an awareness of the opportunities and challenges of the mobile/console gaming sector and the emerging VR market.

While not essential, any experience of game development in Unity, sculpting packages and texture/material creation pipelines (such as Substance or NDO/DDO) would be beneficial to the position.
